Our Mountain Sanctuary isn't a stopover. It's the kind of place where you arrive, set your bag down, and realize you've stopped checking the time. Perched on Indian Paintbrush Drive above Banner Elk, we offer a small collection of thoughtfully appointed rooms where mountain light, quiet wood, and soft linen do most of the work.
Whether you're here for the skiing at Elk Knob, the hiking around Table Rock, or simply the luxury of doing absolutely nothing for a few days — we've built this place to make that possible.

Table Rock, Elk Knob, and dozens of unnamed paths start within minutes of our door. From easy river walks to summit pushes — the mountain is your backyard.
Ski Season
Snowbird and Beech Mountain are a short drive away. Come for the slopes, stay for the hot cocoa on the deck when you're done.
Golf & Leisure
Mountain courses, quiet lakes, and small-town Main Streets — Banner Elk has a leisurely rhythm that's easy to fall into.
Stargazing
With minimal light pollution, the night sky here is something else. Grab a blanket, sit on the deck, and lose track of constellations.
Fall Foliage
September and October turn the Blue Ridge into a watercolor. We keep a close watch on the colors and will tell you when the peak is here.
Pure Doing Nothing
Sometimes the plan is no plan. Read. Nap. Watch the light change. We'll make sure the coffee is warm and the towels are soft.

Yes — we provide Wi-Fi throughout the property. Cell service varies by carrier at this elevation, which is part of the charm. Most guests find they don't miss it.
Each season has its own pull. Fall brings the foliage and crisp mornings. Winter is for skiing and quiet. Spring offers wildflowers and fewer crowds. Summer is lovely for hiking and stargazing. We're open year-round because the mountain doesn't pick a favorite season.
Absolutely. We have free on-site parking right by the rooms. No need to worry about finding a spot or paying extra — just pull in and settle in.
We provide a simple breakfast each morning — local coffee, fresh pastries, and seasonal fruit. The Loft includes a kitchenette if you'd prefer to cook. Banner Elk has several great restaurants within a short drive if you'd like to venture out.
